In addition to conducting research, the TRU provides consultancy services to organisations in need. These consultancy services, which may include a research component, are designed to provide timely, evidence-based information to organisations, and can include reviews of programs, policies, procedures and provision of advice/recommendations through which to allow the organisation to make informed decisions.

The project scope relates to examining exposures that occur during the initial training of full time Australian Defence Force personnel and comparing these findings to the exposure threshold levels set out in the Statements of Principles for osteoarthritis in the lower limb established by the Repatriation Medical Authority (RMA).
